Usually it’s not so much what folks eat that’s the root cause of what’s making them fat; it’s what’s eating them. That’s right, it’s what’s behind door number 1 that really dictates your success or NON success of a diet and weight loss program. The key then to long lasting fat loss is to get to the bottom of your emotional junk, deal with it and then learn how to love and respect yourself enough so you can finally make the necessary lifestyle changes that will support health and well being.
If you’re like me and you think you might be an emotional eater, here’s a link (Quiz) for a quick little quiz you can take to see for sure if that’s the case. - Choose the healthiest foods possible that truly nourish your body.
- Move your body and pick activities that you really enjoy.
- Express yourself. Don’t hold things in and internalize issues.
- Make as many self-loving choices as possible.
- Spend as much time as you can in nature.
- Nurture your spirit by meditating and finding quiet time to wind down.
- Appreciate and love yourself.
- Remember mistakes are only lessons. Don’t beat yourself up. It only makes things worse.
Bottom line is we’ve got to be a little selfish and be good to ourselves. Quit sacrificing your health just to please others and when we make a mistake think of it just the way it really is….a MIS take. Learn from it and do better next time. Look out for number 1 please. If you don’t put your own oxygen mask on first you can’t help anyone out anyway!
