Many of us lead a hectic lifestyle and often use that as an excuse for not making the best food choices. And I’m sure that you’ve all heard that "if you fail to plan you plan to fail." Well, I ran across a great tasting easy to prepare solution for on the go peeps. One of my fellow trainers came up with this healthy breakfast alternative recipe which I just tried today and loved! Their creator, Gil Urbano came up with the idea out of necessity. He like me couldn’t stand to the thought of eating another processed food protein bar and came up with this awsome food on the go that’s easy to eat in between clients, on the way to work, while dropping the kids off to school or even as a leisurely Sunday breakfast. They’re made of wholesome organic ingredients and include a very healthy macro-nutrient ratio that sticks to your ribs. Tons better than any energy bar on the market in my opinion. "Man Cakes" are also very easy to make and are very versatile. You can fold in any type of berries, fruit or nuts to totally change the flavor and add variety to change it up. So if you’re looking for somethng different to liven up your taste buds and still eat healthy give "Man Cakes" a try. Beats the nutrient profile of a Krispy Kreme anyday!
"Man Cakes"
2 C Organic Rolled Oats
7 Free Range Organic Eggs
2 Organic Bananas
1 Tbsp Organic Peanut Butter
1 Tbsp Organic Cinnamon
1 C Frozen Organic Blueberries (optional)
Blend first 5 ingredients in a blender until mixed well. Then fold in optional fruit or nuts by hand. Pour batter into greased or non-stick pan or griddle, flip and eat. Recipe makes about twelve 4" diameter cakes. One of the best parts about them too is you can make them ahead of time on your food prep days and toast them in the toaster over. Haven’t tried freezing them yet, but I bet they’d be fine re-heated.
Total Calories per batch approximately 1490 (With 1C Blueberries) or 124 Kcal per cake.

Was thinking about the numbers today for the nutritional info of the “Man Cake” vs the “Krispy Kreme” I calculated the total calorie count per cake by taking the total number of calories and macro-nutrient grams for all the raw ingredients and then dividing it by 12 (124) The Krispy Kreme number I got straight off their website (http://krispykreme.com) and they said a krispy kreme has 200 calories. If you do the math for the “Man Cakes” and multiply out 9cal x 3 =27(fat cal) plus 4 cal x 16 = 64(carb cal) and 4 cal x 6 = 24 (protein cal) actually comes out to 115 per cake. If you do the math the same way for the Krspy Kreme you get a total of 204 calories for the doughnut. Hmmm guess they round down?
