Your Dog Can Help You Lose Fat and Get Fit

Need some help losing fat or getting fit?  Weather you're a two legged or a 4 legged, getting fit and losing fat can be a challenge to go it alone.

It's pretty much a given that exercise and healthful nutrition is good for the body, mind and spirit and is much needed too.

  • About two thirds of the adults in the US are overweight or obese,
  • 1 out of every 3 of our kids are overweight and about
  • 40% of our dogs are overweight.

Pretty scary stats!

Even though the stats are horrific and we know we need to move, it's still hard sometimes to get off the couch and get going.  There is an easy solution.

Having someone or something join you.

It's a huge motivator. Social support has been proven time and time again to be one of the keys to success for exercise and nutrition programs.  So if your exercise buddy's motivation has bitten the dust, recruit your most loyal friend, your dog.  The girls (Gracie and Stella) love our walks!  Gracie (the yellow) is a mess if she doesn't get her daily jaunt.  Dogs thrive on activity.  Especially walking.  Just letting them out in your fenced in back yard doesn't cut it either.  Daily walks mimic the hunt and foraging for their food,  Plus it's just plain good for them to get out, smell the fresh air and just be a dog.

If you don't already take your dog on regular walks, start now and sign up for my friend JT Clough's  Super Bowl Sunday Game Day Walk Event.  Click below and join us in your home town.  She's also throwing in a FREE 5K Run With your Dog Training Guide when you sign up.
