Green Up Your Turns

It’s that magic time of year when we dust off our boards and tune up our skis.  In fact, my fav place to board Steamboat CO, had some fresh "Champagne"  Powder dump on them today.  Wish I was there to ride. But there’s something else I just learned about today that may be of some interest to those who’d like to"Green"up their turns.  If you’re in the market for new gear this year you may want to consider a bamboo board.  Bamboo boards are made from the most renewable sustainable material and they look really cool too!  And not only do they look good and help reduce your carbon footprint, they also have some performance perks.  The structure of bamboo material allows the manufacturers to use lighter glasses and thinner cores.  This in turn makes very durable, lighter snappier boards.  If you want to check them out click on over to REI’s site.   http://www.rei.com/product/772841
