Looking to Burn Fat Anywhere? No Equipment, No Worries.

gerbilwheelI love to travel and for years, because of my addiction to the almighty exercise buzz I’d spend a ton of time researching hotels to be sure they had a decent fitness facility.  Well, thanks to some of my very well respected and knowledgeable colleagues, my worries have vanished.  I won’t lie to you and say that I don’t enjoy a good fitness center when I’m traveling, but I don’t sweat it at all now that the body weight exercise file cabinet in my brain has been filled with some great workouts that I can do anywhere at anytime without the use of any fancy equipment.  All I need is me!

And there are a couple of guys who have a developed some workouts like nothing you’ve probably seen before unless you’re familiar with CST (Circular Strength Training).  Adam Steer and Ryan Murdock have created a program that is, in my opinion one of the most interesting and effective workout systems that I’ve seen in a while.  It’s not your common, body weight squat push-up type of workout.  These guys can do some stuff that’s amazing.  In fact, I’ve been so impressed with their methods that I’ve integrated some of their movements into my own training.  And the best part about it is that I can do these exercises anywhere I go.  I don’t need an exercise ball, weights, bands or kettle bells. 

Below is a short clip of Adam performing one of the basic moves found in their programs called the "Quad Squat".  Looks kind of wild, but man does it wake up just about every muscle in your body. I’m still trying to get the hang of this one.  It’s really been helping me loosen up my hips.  I love it!
